Usui Reiki
Usui Reiki is a system of energy healing developed by Mikao Usui, serving as a powerful catalyst for transformation and enhanced well being. At its core, Reiki is the channeling of Universal Life Force Energy to help clear energy blocks that can manifest as pain in the body or confusion in the mind. The practice is deeply supportive, inducing a state of deep calm and fostering peaceful energy that facilitates self-healing. Revelation Breathwork is a modern, transformational therapeutic breathing process and active meditation practice created by Jason Amoroso and Dr. Maura Moynihan. It is designed as a tool for emotional release, personal awareness, and spiritual reconnection.

The Technique and Experience
Two-Part Active Breathing: The core of the practice uses an ancient, two-step breathing technique that is performed actively for an extended period, followed by a time of rest. (Some sources describe it as a three-part breath: inhale into the belly, inhale into the chest, and a relaxed exhale).
The Role of Music: A distinguishing element is the use of a carefully curated and upbeat musical experience. The music is intended to be a central emotional guide, helping to bypass the "analytical mind" and access deeper emotional or spiritual insights.
Nervous System Regulation: The active breathing temporarily stimulates the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), which can then allow for the release of pent-up or stagnant energy, emotional stress, and stored trauma in the body.
Empowerment: A core philosophy is that the breather is always in control. If the experience becomes too intense, the person can simply slow or stop the active breathing.

I’m the founder of Five Egrets Healing, serving as a Third Degree Master Ususi Reiki Practitioner and Revelation Breathwork Facilitator committed to guiding my client’s journeys towards healing and well-being.
In early 2024 I was inspired by a profound experience while walking my dog Kona in the hills outside of Lana’i City, Hawai’i. When five egrets soared over my head toward the setting sun, I knew the time had come to commit to guiding others on their healing journey.
Recognizing godai, the five elements recognized by Japanese Buddhism, symbolizing Earth (chi), water (sui), fire (ka), wind (fu), and void (ku) coupled with the egret's symbolism of good luck, purity, and overcoming obstacles, Five Egrets Healing Facilitation was brought to life.
I achieved Third Degree attunement and training in the Usui Reiki Ryoho through multiple pilgrimages to Japan in 2024 and 2025.
Along with my treks to Japan, in 2025 I received training to become a Revelation Breathwork Facilitator. Through the unique combination of Reiki and Breathwork practices, I empower individuals to tap into their inner strength, process stored traumas, manage stress, and find lasting health and peace.
